Urenio Watch Watch: Technology Parks

Science Parks Assessment

In this paper, Bigliardi et al. attempt to address the very common problem of evaluating the performance of Science and Technology Parks as well as other technology transfer organisations. Their analyses points to the critical role of the specific context (environment) were the park is located and operates as well the incentives and expectations of their initiators/shareholders. These tend to define the real mission and strategy of the parks. They develop a conceptual framework to identify priority measures/indicators among a wide area of possible variables. The 4 case studies from Italy they illustrate how this framework can be applied and how the different internal and external factors come to play.
