The revised version of LEED for Neighborhood Development rating system was approved by US Green Building Council, following the consensus-based process that all LEED rating systems go through, and it received approval from the Congress for the New Urbanism and the Natural Resources Defense Council. The revised 2009 rating system incorporates two-and-a-half years of market and user feedback. It includes changes in the sections of the pilot LEED-ND version, while a new regional priority section was introduced to encourage strategies that address geographically specific environmental, social equity, and public health.
