The URBAN AND REGIONAL INNOVATION Research (URENIO) is a university laboratory in the Faculty of Engineering at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. We are doing research on territorial systems of innovation and intelligent cities. We focus on territories that base their development on R&D, technological innovation, technology-based companies, technology infrastructure, and knowledge and information networks, searching for models of innovation-led territories (technology districts, innovation clusters and ecosystems, technopoles, RIS regions, smart and intelligent cities), models of innovation processes (spin-offs, producer-supplier relations, technology alliances, platform-based innovation, user and data-driven innovation), and models of smart environments for innovation, sustainability, digital and green transition.
